Thanks, friend! Most of my posts here are somewhat general. I want to write about things most people are interested in, not just trail folks. This one was really trail-specific, and yet you still read it. I appreciate our connection here (and in other ways, too)!
I always enjoy learning! And while the context of your post was trail-specific, the recurring themes were storytelling and connectedness - those are universal! :)
What a wonderful summary Amy. Thanks for the great conversation at your table in the exhibits area and for all you provided through the sessions you were a part of. I'm sure we'll chat soon!
Storytelling is key to all advocacy to be successful and reach the audience. Thanks for the thoughts on empathy. Empathy makes you a person who listens, who the person spoken to listens and then respects you, and makes them an ally to your cause.
Thanks for sharing, Tom! I've thought and talked about respecting people who are opposed to (or cautious about) trails. There's a shift somehow when introducing empathy.
Great post with lots of insights! Sounds like a wonderful summit.
